mom got me an electric guitar and amplifier for christmas in 1992. i taught myself how to play and while in art school i bought my first 4-track recorder, drum machine and microphone with a refund i had gotten from a student loan. i wanted to play guiltar so that i could play eric clapton and jimi hendrix, but once i started writing my own music, i found that my music didn’t sound anything like what i was listening to. it was ambient, melodic, and simple. with my new sound system, i started recording my first album in the summer of 1997, process: illustrations in sound. these were songs about creating an environment. since i finished my first album, i have written and recorded some alternate country songs, as well as sound tracks to my own movies. i am now taking piano lessons, and hope to use the piano as well as the guitar in my future recordings. |
